When using the Peake tool to read fault codes and reset them does this cause a complete reset where the adaptations have to recycle themselves too. I am referring to the same situation as when you get a new software upload and then have to drive the car for 50+ miles or so until the computer gets the timing and everything back in order.

Does this same thing happen when resetting the fault codes or just viewing them for that matter with the Peake tool?

SM at local BMW dealer said whenever you clear codes it resets everything and the adaptations have to reset themselves again...

Anyone know for sure?

As far as I know, you are only resetting the stored and pending fault codes.

That would have been my thought too, although I have no evidence to back this up. Car seems to run the same after using the peak, and i don't think it has the 'power' to clear adaptations. When my dealer cleared my adaptation values, it also reset the SII light (not sure if that always happens when you clear the adaptation values, or if resetting the sii clears them).
