I believe it smells like a small amt of smoke hitting possibly the exhaust headers. Is this due to the incline? I drove it around the block and then parked level and it is no longer present. Any ideas before my long trip?
I think I should re-phrase what happened. I went for a short trip, then returned home and parked in my driveway which has a slope to it. The car was sitting, engine off, and I returned a few minutes later to see some smoke coming from the hood area near the windshield. Obviously some oil had spilled and was burning off on something hot, but I couldn't see where.
I went for another short drive and returned home again, but this time parked inside the garage where it was level - no smoke.
I took a risk and drove it on my long trip anyway as I chalked it up to a one-off situation and the trip went without a hitch. Still bothers me though and I may try the experiment again once the weather turns nice.
