Check out this photo from last weekends Brian Redmond Race at Road America.

I raced in this group for 3 years in a Shelby Mustang, and have swapped some paint with some of the cars in this photo. And there were some other cars involved that are out of the camera field, including 2 (real) Cobras. Two of the Mustangs here were Trans Am cars.

This happened at the start of the race.

I am glad I switched to racing 356s last year!

Not too many races won on the first lap, but plenty have been lost. To finish first, first you have to finish. Good news is, apparently no one was hurt.

Apparently there was some German braking on the start (true?)...not smart at RA. The front straightaway is very very tight and fast.

Wow, that is enough to make a grown man cry! :crying: I hope noone was seriously injured, but those poor cars sure were. I would have fun racing, but never at the expense of a classic like those!

Here's a few more links/posts with info/comments (sometimes a bit sassy) about the incident. I didn't even hear about it until early last week when I was at the dealership. My parts person was at the event and said cars were stacked over his head (and he's tall!). And it took about two hours to clean. Very bad, but the fact that everyone made it out okay is WONDERFUL NEWS!
