There were no M5s in attendance at all, but I was there with my E36 M3 and Anita was there with her Smurf Blue M Coupe.

Fun times were had by all.

I want to say a special thanks to Dave Z for recomending Hawk HT-10 brake pads for my M3, when they get up to temperature it's like throwing out an anchor and they don't fade at all. Highly recomended as a track pad.

Regards

No just 14, car number 40. I was right behind that red Subaru when he wrecked his car. 100% driver error. I was way faster than him and he wouldn't let me pass, he carried too much speed into Canada corner and then when he couldn't make the turn, he tried anyway instead of going into the pea gravel, caught the two outside wheels at the left edge of the track and then tried to re-enter the track which catapulted him across the track straight into the inside wall. At least I was able to pass him then...

BTW, did Dan get all of the gravel out of his Mustang yet?

See ya.

You mean didn't I get all the pea gravel out  For real, the worst was cleaning that fine layer of dusty dirt off ALL the interior bits.

Sorry to hear you had somebody blocking you like that--was he the same guy that sat on the wall w/o his helmet on??

I had one season on Sat where 3 people went off track. Guess all those things combined (and more like the guy who ended up taking a whack in the head after he took off his helmet inside his Vette while being toed an and cable broke his rear window and caught him in the head!!) are what caused the track owner to give us the lecture about dialing everything back to 8/10ths!

Now, how was the Autobahn??? I've been waiting for details!

Jamie,
NOW THAT'S SAD!!!! Not a good way for a new facility to start out either!! Do you think that was a result of the club hosting the event, the track owners or a combo. Seems like the track owners would impose minimum safety requirements that ALL folks using the track would to follow and, of course, benefit from. What were the drivers' meetings like???? Yikes!!
Sorry you had to suffer through it!

It definately wasn't the track because they yelled at the Alfa club about the Saturday "touring" session. They mentioned it in the Sunday driver's meeting but then said that they were well known for their "touring" sessions and everyone should just be careful. Only about 15 people showed up for the driver's meetings anyway, the whole thing was just very poorly run. I would like to drive at Autobahn CC again, I just won't do it with the Alfa club.

Nice pics.

Will I see you guys up at RA this weekend for the Windy City event?

There should be quite a strong NSX contingent . . .

And keep your eye out for a white Integra Type R that is pushing close to 400 whp. He was running low 2:40s last Oktoberfast.

Hey, glad to hear you'll be there too. We'll be there with the '03 M3 and '01 M Coupe and board members "Mrs_Struth" and "Struth" will be there with their '03 M5--so we'll at least have a full complement of M models there.

I don't know of anyone else, but maybe someone will see this and post.

We'll look for you all there--see you soon!
