I'm eyeing a M5 that still has the original clear bar installed when the car was originally purchased. I assume that this was done by the dealership.

So this protective film is now 10 years old and noticeable when get up close... but it's still functional and keeping the front of the car blissfully chip free. What would you do?

1. Remove it and then detail and ceramic coat the car
2. Keep it on until it starts peeling off itself

I have no experience with old tech clear films... do these have a defined lifespans?

Also... should I be worried about any noticeable differences between the paint that was protected vs. the rest of the car? ie. will it be obvious where the film ended once it's removed or can this be "detailed" out or blended?
