Hi people.

Today i had my M5 dynotested, but i got badly dissapointed. It turned out that my BMW only had 345HP instead of the 400.

Is there something i can do to "get back" some of the HP?

Have any of you had the same experience with dyno tests?

I know that my english is bad.. but im from Denmark :dunno:

Best regards
Kim

Is it 345 to the wheel? If it is, then you'll never get 400hp to the wheel.

Other than that....the first thing that comes to mind is the 3 letter acronym MAF. Then perhaps the fuel filter?

400 hp is at the flywheel, you will have driveline losses.

Damn. So what are you getting at the wheel? 300?

Maybe you have a leak somewhere.

Im assuming your car is stock and if so your car makes about 400hp crank

Dyno is to the wheels so thats why your gettin 335 which sounds good

if you want those horses than youl need

+Headers
+Race cats
+Throttle bodies Velocity stacks
+Intake
+air mass meters
+cams
= about 400 wheel hp:cheers::M5rev::M5launch:

nope the dyno recalculates so we get the engine effect. So it IS on the engine i get 345...

MAFs (Mass Airflow Sensor) or CPS (CAM/Crank Position Sensor) Dan (Member Whattheheck) drove around for quite a while with a bad CPS not knowing it. I guess they sometimes don't throw codes...

Again, this assumes you're talking about engine hp. If you got 345rwhp then you should be happy

Here you see the copy of the 2´nd time where it shows less

But as we can see he only takes it to arround 5600rpm..... He wasn´t normal :S
Shouldn´t he take it all the way to the 7500??

If he only dyno'd the car up to 5600 rpm, that is the problem. You'll make peak hp higher than that. Should run it to 7k. (not 7500)

Peak hp is at 6600 rpm, and given how linear your curve is I suspect it's simply the operator who is at fault. Your torque figures are almost normal, should have been 20 nm higher but this is only 5 % down so within spec (more or less)

Unlessl you pull the motor out of the car and strap it to an engine dyno, any correction is just that...an educated guess at driveline losses. I think 345 corrected rwhp is pretty dang good.

U need to pull some fuses so you can rev the car all the way in the dyno.
If you don't pull the fuses you can only rev to that 5600rpm and it should also show some warning lights while dynoying...

Pull fuses 17/30 and do it again, had the same problem first time I tried to dyno mine.

Mine without pulling the fuses (revs only 5600rpm)

You pulled 309 kW revving only to 5600 rpm.... :eek:oohhh: Pretty strong beast! Factory claim is 295 kW :confused2
