Hi! Some of you might remember my introducing thread from last year and my disaster with my engine. --> http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/158790-new-member-germany.html

Now I´m happy to say that the engine rebuild is done and it`s running fine for almost 3 1/2 month and 4000km now.

The rebuild included:

- new MAHLE pistons 94,19mm
- new main and rod bearings
- polished crank
- new gaskets (all)
- new o-rings (all)
- new valve steam seals
- cleaned valves

I`ve got not many pictures from the rebuild but here are a few...

Excellent job Sebastian !!

Great to hear she is back on the road, and with a new engine too !

Can I ask how much the parts and labour costs were roughly ?

Thanks

Thank you!

the parts and labour costs ( I did everything on my own except for the bore/hone job) were about 5500€.

Hi,

I will writing in english for the people here.

From which city are you?

When I bought my car, I took it to manhart racing.
He rebuilt my engine complete. Now I have a better feeling.
First what I would do is to change the bearing shells.
My engine had 139.000km on the clock and there was some scratches on the bearing shells.

I got new pistons, bearing shells, bearing bolt, all gaskets, new sensors for cam shaft, all pipes etc.
New ECU program.
