Oil housing gasket mistery

The oil filter housing cover that contains the inlet and outlet to the oil cooler was leaking due to a dried out rubber gasket. When I search online I see all sorts but none that look exactly like this one.

Any help?

It looks like they're considering the Oil Filter housing non serviceable and that part isn't available separately.

You'll either need to replace the whole housing or get creative with a sealant.

There are a few options you can buy sheets of material and try cutting it. They also make this rope type stuff, that you cut to length and form it then add a drop of liquid seal on the ends after overlapping them. I can't recall the name but that might be the best choice. You can always go scorched earth and use a liquid seal.

I know this thread is from 2017. I am wondering if you have found a solution to this problem? There is no oil filter housing gasket specifically for S85 for sale in its existance as i have the same problem.

I have been considering on using gasket maker but I have no idea if the maker is appropriate to use on this application.

My problem seems to be resolved with this gasket maker and apparently only cost me $12 bucks. Not a drip of leak since 120 miles although I admit there was a bit of tightening as the miles went on because I had absolutely no idea how tight I should fasten the bolts once the gasket properly cured but the oil filter housing is as dry as a whistle now nevertheless.

As a case of reference, I didn’t reuse the oil housing gasket. I used this gasket maker below as a replacement agent.

Cheers!
