Sorry guys I know this has been talked about many times before, and before you ask I have done a search but the thread I found has a fault with the pictures.
I have two green lights left and I know the oil service is next as the last was an inspection. I want to save a bit of cash and do it myself with the help of my dads mechanic who service's his range rover and has a hydrolic ramp. I will be ordering the oil from germany as it is cheaper, and getting the filter from BMW, however I need a bit of your help.
Could somebody give me a detail describtion of the correct procedure (which order to do things in) and some pictures of the the drain plug if possible. I already have the procedure for resetting the lights.

Where do I get the o-rings and copper crush washer and how many o-rings do I need?
Part numbers would be handy, I speak french but explaining this to BMW may be a bit tricky if that where I can get them from.

I'll be in France (Paris) in late March. Perhaps in exchange for an oil change, you'll let me take your beast out onto Nurburgring? :biggrinbounce:

I live in the south near Montpellier and by March I will neck deep in my next property project otherwise I love to meet up, dont get many M5 lovers in my area, infact you don't get any. Thanks for the help though.

I'm not sure I would reset the lights. Then you would extend the interval until the next service.

I don't plan on doing the oil until the last green light goes out, I am just getting everything in order.
