Here's mine, '85 E28 525i auto. Bought her in 1998, daily driver for 11 years until I finally could afford my ultimate dream car in 2009. Didn't sell her though, still in my garage for winter duty or whenever the M5 can't be used during summer.
After M5 purchase (intended to fix it up for winter duty and economical runs/second for my family or I). I sold the car before I had a chance to fix it up which I regret this decision. $1300 for this car was very cheap.
Nice '95 E34 525. Last year of the 525 got the color matched M-tech rocker panels and color matched front and rear bumper lowers, gathered leather door panels, the more modern steering wheel/airbag with colored roundel. Also got the wide grille which I loved and still love. 15" 'weaves with the balloon tires standard. For all intents and purposes a WONDERFUL and fun car. Also a Cali car so no rust. I did pretty much an entire comprehensive mechanical resto on this car including rear subframe bushings, clutch and all trans/main seals, oil pan gasket, full VANOS rebuild, valve cover gasket and VC refinish/dip, every interior part repaired, etc. then sold it at a tremendous loss once I found the M5. Probably ate 5K on that car and I'd still buy it back! Incredible vehicle. Last I heard running over 200K easily right now.
lot of great looking cars in here. much heritage. It's very interesting to see what people own and enjoy leading up to their E39s. In my humble opinion the "mechanical" cars of the early to mid 90s were the last "great" cars before the electronic nanny age took over.
This is my '01 540i/6 Sport. Don't plan on selling it ever but if for some reason it is damaged beyond repair I would consider a beast as replacement among other things.
this is my daily. found this gem 8 yrs ago and paid a whopping $900 for her. needless to say, i don't think i will part with her anytime soon. just went over 355K on the clock. upgraded shocks/springs with billys and h&r's. it actually raised her up about 3/4". i'm hoping she will settle back down to her previous height. HID heads and LED interiors & lic plate. never ending list of things that have to be replaced or upgraded. still a sexy beast.
Only BMW's I've ever owned have been 5'ers. I first owned a 92 525/5 and swapped in an M52 with S52 cams and added a Garret GT3076R turbo along with a bunch of other tasteful mods. I sold that to build the LSx 427 E39 touring and only just picked up an 03 M5 as a DD.
