Hi,

Firstly start off by saying that I have the electric fan conversion. Whilst in traffic today I noticed that the fan would not kick in at its usual temperature (gauge indicated), now this was very temprimental as luckily the traffic was stop/ start so I could get moving again and the air flow being enough to cool the engine down before slowing down again. But then when stopped again and the temperature rising slowly the fan would kick in and do its job! So a bit hit and miss wether it would start or not.

Fan issue? Water pump? It's not an earth or connection as all those were checked when I got home and all are sound.

Cheers

Should mention that the conversion to electric fan took place over two years ago and was working fine up to today.

The temperature sensor is in the lower pipe (passenger side for USA cars).

Cheers

First thing to suspect is the temperature switch or the relay (I assume you have one). Those relays are switching a high current and the contacts will burn after a while, giving that type of erratic operation.
