I don't know of strictly BMW meets other than Bimmerfest today. However, a group usually heads to Katie's on Saturday morning and Fair Lakes on Sunday pretty regularly.

The National Capitol Chapter of BMWCCA does regular social meets on thursdays. A couple in MD, one in NoVa.

Well, cars and coffee, yes basically. It's just everyone gathered in a parking lot near a Starbucks. See some cool cars, talk to some people, etc.

Events that the chapter do are a mix. The weekly socials are similar, they just rotate locations around the DMV. They also do 'tours' which typically adds a good day (sometimes two) of spirited driving. There's also auto-x, HPDEs, etc. The NCC chapter is the biggest in the country IIRC, and they're always doing something. If you weren't a member before, and you have the time, it's definitely worth it here.
