My 30 month old f10 is displaying the error message 'No acoustic Tones'. The cabin is in total silence, even the pipped in engine noise is silent. I took it to the dealer and their diagnosis was an amp failure but I'm not convinced. Every now and then the sound system springs in to life and everything is ok for a few minutes before failing again. The dealer has an amp on order but any ideas from you guys?

not a bad thing
Haha kind of agree. But yeah sounds like something inside the amp has failed or come disconnected internally. It may work occasionally when the broken part makes contact, but it is still broken. Dealer sounds right to me.

Did you get this problem fixed? I am having similar issues with my 2011 528i. Sound in and out. Speakers crackling. Now no sound at all.
