Hi Timour and thanks again for posting.

To be clear then , it seems that the problems were nothing to do with the compressor kit itself but rather the common e39 M5 issue of failing MAFs which are an oem item not supplied with the compressor kit ... I believe this is the case ?

The kit is designed to work with the standard Mafs , no need to change them at all ;)

Keep us posted

The aa kit is due out in approx 5 weeks so we hear. As always active are carrying out full R and D and testing on their conversion before release.

As you all know ( or should ! ) active's products are of awesome quality and engineering, highly recommended to anyone; yes we would say that anyway I guess as active's exclusive UK dealer , but it is true nonetheless. :biggrinbounce:

Do YOU ... or anyone else ... know what is "Up to Date" status of the

AA S/C Kit (to USA e39 M5'ers) that is parallel (same as) to the one that CA Auto offers?
Karl and his group are "evaluating" the kit. It is pretty much done, but they are a small shop, and this in probably not a high priority.

They floated a price point of $16k-$19k installed a few weeks ago. They are thinking of requiring installation at their facility in Miami (nice place, very clean), at least for the first few kits, so that adds some $$$ to the "kit". That price includes install, I don't know if it includes rear subframe reinforcement (unlikely) and software (likely). The last time I checked, the sister kit is going for about $12k USD, including VAT, but excluding install.
Regards,
Jerry

Good to Hear ... And the COST ??

Is it about the same as CA Auto's Kit ... Of course, After SUBTRACTING the VAT and then the conversion from Sterling to US Dollars ??

sorry but we have no idea on cost of aa kit as yet.

Installation at actives workshop actually makes a load of sense as they willkno wthe kit inside out and this will almost definately actually save you money in the long run.

Also in the unlikely event there is a problem then you can take it straight back to the designer AND installer of the kit for the best and speediest resolution possible. Otherwise there will always be doubt as to whether the "other installer" carried out the work 1005 correctly.

Sounds a fine and well BUT ... Many ... about 60% of the e39 M5 registered owners reside OVER 3,000 miles away (ONE Way - 6,000 miles r/t) from AA's facility. In MY Case ... The only way it makes sense to me is to have a Local West Coast (greater Los Angeles area) Bimmer House do the Install. It really makes No Sense to either drive or ship the car across the USA (back 'n forth) just to find out that there is a problem with the car runs.

Do you have a better or more viable Suggestion?

Fair enough , coming from a much smaller land mass we sometimes forget you gents sometimes have to travel hundreds of miles ouich
Smile on my End ... Hundreds would be a delight ... BUT ... We're Talking abgout Thousands of Miles ... that would 6000 Miles round trip from Los Angeles, CA. to Miami, Fla.

There has to be a better solution than transporting the car that kind of distance.
