Hello to all.

I read you a lot of years now , but I just purchased my first M5 E39 !

Carbon black with 162000 kilometers ( about 100k miles ) .

Excuse me if I do not write English properly. I try my best . I come from Greece - Europe .

No mods on the car . I just visited a local experienced bmw service store and started some refreshment and service .
Oil and filter , diff and transmission oils , some front bushings , tyres , brake fluids , air filters , cabin air filters , a rear part of the suspension scissor , air condition freon liquid and plugs.

I have made 700 Kilometers before the service visit .

First impressions :
Awesome ! Excellent ride quality ! Very nice noise insulation ! A real limo !
Nice linear power ! U can drive it like automatic , because of the torque . No need to change gears :hihi: . Pulls strong with every gear !
No sound from the exhaust . A Q car !
I come from a bmw M3 E46. Tomorrow will sell. Totally different beast !

Have owned in the past forester xt, 350z , lotus Elise etc . M5 e39 looks to be in another level ...

Problem is that the steering wheel is occasionally heavy . Any ideas ? Made a search about pumps .... I will read more.

Nice to join you !

hi from Palestine

when i bought my car i did the exact what you did with oil refreshment. and i notice muffler too quit so i cut them off and sounds very nice. and steering too heavy did alignment still the same. they told me because of wide tires but i don't think so. i drive big truck with wider tires and they steer smoother. its either the steering design is old or i think i have something wrong will take it back to mechanic. enjoy your car

Congrats on the new horse in your stable! Looks like you've had some fun cars before. An elise? I'd love to throw one of those things around some time. That's a totally different ballgame from the M5.

For the steering issue, you could change out the reservoir (which has a filter) and the fluid to see if that helps. Check your power steering hoses and belts for deterioration, too.

Hello my friend !

Taxes are very high in Greece . We have to pay a lot of taxes because our country is in very bad financial position !
Road tax is 1320 euro pet year !
Gasoline is 1,65 euro per LITER (not gallon ) an 1,75 euro per liter for 98+
That is all because the car is more than ten years all .
If it was new there was an additional tax , that is called luxury tax and is calculated from the engine capacity and if the M5 was it is about 4000 euro more !

Expensive hobby !
