New Navteq DVD Update 2008.1

10258 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Clyde
I picked up the latest Nav DVD at my stealer. It did a software update to the Nav computer (took 5 min and restart). Nothing seems much different, except a few of my favorite new restaurants are now in the database.
here is a link to the Navteq description:

they should have separate discs for East/West coast so they can pack more info on it
That was the old days when they still used CDs ha ha ha.....they had 6 to cover the US.

What they should have is a hardrive, wireless 802.x and allow us to upload what ever detail we want.

+1.

wish they would deploy the Apple/Google widget for our navi systems too... I think that comes later this year-probably on the 09 model. I thought I saw somewhere that it is already available selectively in Europe.

any other major differences though? between the current software and that one?
I have not noticed anything new other than the mapping database with new roads, addresses, and locations.

1. Retail is $199, but my dealer always gives discount matching any competitive price, plus you get 10% discount for BMW CCA members at most dealers.
2. Yes
