I have an 02 m5, key slowly stopped working to unlock and lock doors. I bought a new key, received it today, and it will not initialize to lock/unlock doors. It doesn't unlock trunk either. I check all fuses and didn't see any that were blown as I heard the fuel door fuse could cause this problem. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance for your help

Take it to the nearest dealership. There is a recoding sequence that needs to be done in order to pair the key with your car specifically. You might be able to search this site and find the sequence of buttons to push on your own. But a 5 min visit to the parts department and no charge sealed the deal for me.

Thanks, turns out the vids on YouTube were wrong, they said to put the key to aux 2 position, but it was aux 1 (first turn forward) that worked. Thanks
