There is nothing "cold air" about that intake. Plus, it appears to be just their original intake modified on the back-end for the MAF sensor and plenum tubing size.

Based on the photos, I would bet the bottom of the intake does not maximize the airflow from the bottom intakes (there are 4 intake ports on the E60 M5). Just look at the carbon fiber housing surrounding the filter.

Cheers,

Darren

Welcome :byee55amg, just got email from Bimmian they have the "new" cold air intake for sale now ,any one have any input on them , they look good and price is reasonable, are they better then BMC ? This is the link .

Look similar to K&N Typhoon and I believe I have seen exact the same one u mentioned on beastpower.com at least 6mos. ago. http://www.beastpower.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BMI&Product_Code=BI-BE60M-CAI&Category_Code=bimmiancai

I don't think those intake design would work on E60 M5. For sure bet, go with BMC+RPI scoop and keep the changes.

Too me, the ONLY system right now that may actually work, "at speed" are the scoops in back of the grill....they prolly make a difference from 60 mph on.....that thing you are showing me will actually make NO difference execpt for intake noise...
