The E34 M5 usually runs 235/45/17 front tyres and can run a 255/40/17 on a wider 9j rear .

If your front wheels are 8js , I would consider fitting 235/45/17s .

Tyre preferences in terms of manufacturer are always a controversial subject .

What do you expect your choice of tyre to excel at ?

Well you def don't want the run flats!

I have the bridgestone SO2s on my spare alloys and they are grippy in the warmer weather but are nowhere as good as the Michelin PS2s I have on the car now,for all round capability.

I also had the Dunlop sport 9000 a few years ago and was impressed with them. I'm not a fan of the continentals myself. If you want the best for your all round drive I would go the PS2 route as the difference is very noticeable.

Remember that these cars are high quality performance cars so you really want high quality performance tyres

Just my tuppence
