You'll need to get the map data DVD from www.navteq.com. It is my understanding that it should read the data and process fine, but the voice prompts may not be english and the distance may be metric. Your dealer would have to reprogram the unit, of course for a charge.
That's what I thought I understood. I do have the DVD already. So the firmware we update is like the operating system and the recoding the dealer does is more like updating the bios?
Actually what you do is more like bios and operating system updating....what the dealer does is like selecting english for the language or timezone and what version of peripherials you have like stereo...etc.
