I have been driving my 2000 for a month and a half now, with about 3,000 miles put on it in that time. I changed the oil a week or so after buying it, so there is around 2,300 - 2,500 miles on my oil. I check it every so often, and after the last check it is showing first signs of some consumption, which I read as normal.

SO, with 2,500 miles on the "change" is this an average amount of consumption? Pic is ok, the level was about half way between the marks.

Since I am new to the "M" class of vehicle, I am using the recommended Castrol TWS 10w-60. I read the oil faq, and have read comments of people using 1 liter per 1,000 miles or so.

The car has almost 123,000 on it. I bought it with 119,200. Build date is 02/2000.

mine is a 02/2000 build

I have done 2k miles and not used a drop (the dipstick was on 3/4 between the marks when i bought it)

the car has done 6k since its last oil change and the dipstick is on 3/4 still.

The seller sold it as not using a drop but i was prepared for that not to be the case.

so far am i well chuffed, my 330i uses more!
