My M6 arrived at my dealer today! lovelove

I took some pictures and snatched the manual. Delivery will take place next Monday afternoon. Sorry for the badly done pics but light conditions were really bad. I have never seen a car that is less photogenic. The pictures mirror the beauty of the M6 not in the least.

While skimming over the manual I found out that the frequently mentioned vicious criticism that the menu control (iDrive) is hard to operate and distractive while driving the M6 is BS since almost all functions (TV channels, radio stations, CD tracks ...) can be selected by means of voice control; there are more than 100 voice commands available!

Congratulations Autobahnraiser...I envy you getting your car so much faster than people over in North America. Let us konw your experience!.
You are absolutely right on voice control..my current 645Ci has it on the iDrive and I use it all the time. I read so much about iDrive before I got it and thought I would have to be a nuclear scientest to use it, but it is much better than I expected.
The one thing to avoid is to speak immediately when you hit the voice button on the wheel. You have to wait for it so speak to you and only talk after the beep at the end. When I started I used to command it immediately the voice stopped, but I found I need to wait another half-second till it beeped.

Wow, looks fabulous, was never that keen on Silverstone for M6 but it really seems to work. Everyone who knows the 6er realises is is not a photogenic car so you must be over the moon!

Agree re: I-drive I have used it on the normal 6er which I had for the day and found it v. easy to use and I wouldn't consider myself technically minded at all. The other large German manufacturers also seem to think it is the way to go as they have or are develolping similar systems.

I can't believe you have to wait until monday, don't think I could stand it! I think I'd be pressurising them to speed the process up!

Anyway look forward to hearing about your experiences when you pick her up

Congratulations. You must be so excited. It has been over 2 years since I put my deposit for my M6, yet NOT a word from the dealer about when I can pick my options for upcoming M6. Well, I guess I just needed to be patient until next spring. Enjoy it for all of us who are not so fortunate as you are.:byebye:

My M6 is fitted with the Continental Sport Contact 2 tires, but my dealer pomised to exchange them for the Pirelli P Zero Corsas!

Congrats on a great new ride! Most of the issues with idrive have been ironed out. The VR works fairly well, but Ronan has his advice right- youve got to wait a second before speaking. You will find there are some commands you prefer VR for and others you prefer idrive for. Please give us a write up of how it is to drive!!!!!!

On the pics it looks like extended leather, because you can't spot any seams on the upper dash. But trust me, it is full leather! I'll provide better photos when I take delivery.
