I am looking at this, I have always loved the look, and one of my tow kids now
drives, so I can go sport now. I have to buy a tip. so my wife can drive it too.
She has had enough "so she says" of the six speed, and wants me to go
auto, so this seems the best route. I found an 01 its a deep blue with tan
interior, tip 25,000 miles. They are asking 87K. I drove one 4 months ago, and almost pulled the trigger (loved it for an auto!). Seem tha it should be priced
more like 75-77 based upon others I have seen. I am kinda clueless on these prices, so any help is apreciated. Thanks

Definitely buy a '02 or newer. The '02's have a re-inforced window header which increases rigidity, and decreases the chance of 'rattles', etc. Further, the '02 has drink holders and a glove box. You should have no problem finding a '02 Tip for high $70's, low $80's as the Tips go for less than the 6 Speeds. Buy from a reputable dealer, and follow the cars history. Talk to the previous owner if possible. As long as the car has received the regular maintenance, they are extremely rugged.
