So, at a price of 1 015 500 SEK (~$142,000), you Swedes are taxed like there's no tomorrow. Given that the car will cost roughly $85,000+ in the US, this is a hefty price, but you don't need to be celebrity rich to afford one. Is a car that costs 1 015 500 SEK super ultra exclusive in Sweden, or is it something that doctors and lawyers can generally roll in? I wonder what kind of money people in high tax countries must make, before they are mercilessly taxed, to be able to afford such a car?

Well the dolalr is exceptionally weak compared to the SEK, so just translate it in to dollars make its a bit extreme. Danish price is over $300 000. Anyeau, not too many people here buy 1 000 000 SEK cars. But over 100 M5 have been preordered and Sweden has most cars per capita in the world here.

But it is laot ,oe common to buy 700 000 SEK SUV as Touareg and Cayenne than M5s. But we have the enthisuasts as well here :)

Gustav,

My compliments, Excelent article. I really love the pictures with Kalle's touring, David's E39 and the E60 M5.

Personally, I do like the E60 very much. Unlike the E65, the E60 is an elegant and clean design and the S85 is a true M engine again.

Rgrds,

Raymond

Nice work Gustav, I really enjoyed the pics and writeup.
Won't be long and we'll be seeing new M5's on the roads in LA. :M5launch:

Very entertaining article. Fantastic car.

What a shame you didn't get to meet up with the King for a demonstration!

Incidentally, I saw a pre-Ring Taxi E60 M5 in Interlagos Blue at the 'Ring at Easter, it is difficult to understand how purple the colour looks in the sunlight, yet how dark in low light! Really nice colour (although that one had caramel brown leather seats, which weren't to my taste!)
