Would you ll mind if I bring a couple of other members of the family along as well. Due to recent circumstances beyond my control it would help a lot if you are ok with this....

Look forward to meeting you all.

Right,

I'm off to plug the Battery charger into the M5 for tomorrow's meet.

- - I've not driven the car for two months, and the battery's completely flat.

Here's hoping I can resurrect it tonight - I'm going to leave it on a trickle-charge overnight and see what happens in the morning.

Hi Terry

I will bring along my new toy if that helps as we know M5's can be prone to the battery running down, I purchased a portable jump start. If it helps....

Also Farrell not a problem with the others coming along.

See you there...

I've just got back to England, fitted new brakes when I got home as I pringled my front discs with 25 laps of the 'Ring.

M5 will be very dirty, including 2500 miles of insects baked to the windscreen, one stonechip cracked headlight lens, and bald front tyres...

See you there tomorrow!

Hi Guys,

I knew there was something else really important going on this weekend!! ouich

Unfortuantely I am starting to get it in the neck at home, with baby number two due on the way in about 7 weeks, the list of jobs round the house just gets bigger even though I am getting through them faster then ever. (I think they call it a 'nesting' instinct  )

I will do my best to join you all, but with family commitments to drop people of at the airport too, may not make it by 12.

If I don't make it, have one for me too  & and just be warned Steve wasn't kidding about trim parts!!! hiha (nice one Steve ;) )

Will wait to check some of the 'gassing' later on the board - keep enjoying your cars:wroom: .

Re: The M5 meet in Hertford.
It was good to meet all of you. Very good venue & good company.
Thanks to Frank for organising & Andy for his video of one of his laps of the Ring which made entertaining viewing.
Unfortunately as expected, my diagnosis of yet another failed EDC damper proved to be correct. The first one I changed 4 yrs ago (NS/F) has departed.

This did not in any way spoil a very good day.

Cheers
Farrell

(PS If anyone has a spare ns/f used damper that is excess to requirements, please take pity & contact me soonest. Thanks)

Echo Farrell's comments, great to meet up again, and very nice to compare/contrast by having a go in a couple of other M5s.

Nice food too, next time we'll have to choose a different day than the first Sunday of the month, which is when they have that jalopy (erm, I mean car) show! :hihi:

See you all next time. Maybe I'll even have some new tyres by then.

I agree a good time was had.
Perfect day & venue - well done Simon!

Andy cheers for the go in yours and you showing me some interesting lines along the A505 from Baldock and around roundabouts!!!

:M5launch:

Funnily my servtronic has firmed up again!!
Shame it didn't do on the way there, especially on our drag race up to 150mph, but hey, such is life!

So, group buys on the UCC short shifters then??

Thanks Steve (BTW it was jointly organised by Frank also)

Yes I agree it was great to see both old and new faces.

The location seems right although as Andy says we must try and avoid the classic "jaloppy" meeting.

Andy's short shift is a fantastic mod and I think that some of us are contemplating a group buy!! soon..

Glad the steering is working again and I hope you get it fixed soon.....

I think both Terry and myself took pictures which I will try and post in the next couple of days.

Thanks for all who came along and hope to see alll at the next one!

Hi There,

Great to see all there - Great to get back in my own car, as well as some others - (AndyE).

I'm really in two minds at the mo -I appear to have renewed interest in my car today, but the blast yesterday was great........ and the investment I put into my car last year seems to be paying off - everything is working at the mo - and it's going great........

Looking forward to the next meet - AndyE - can I employ your installation services and tempt you to fit a short-shifter to my motor ?

I'll post some pictures of the meet in the next few days.........

Good to see you all yesterday - new faces and old - excellent sunny day and a good choice of venue. Lets do it again before too long, perhaps add in a run in convoy?

Keep the faith :flag:
