Im thinking of buying a 99 or 00 M5. What is the oficial fuel comsumption for it and is it better/worse than a 1999 BMW 840CI? (i use to have one)

Also i want to increase power slighlty to about 450. What mods are very good value for money. I find a remap quite good as it costs about £600 and gives more than 20bhp. What other "value for money" modifications are there?

Actual MPG has been about 16 for me. 450hp will come from standard bolt on's - headers, exhaust, CAI and ECU. Expect to drop some cash because I doubt you'll be getting 20hp from ECU alone.

16.5-17.5mpg in everyday mix w/ some heavy throttle abuse mixed in. About 22-23.5 on the highway. Plan on at least full intakes, exhaust, headers, chip and probably a little more to get a legitimate 450 hp > over well $10K US minimum unless you can do all the labor........but worth it........

Used to have 1997 840ci sport which averaged about 22mpg, now got a 2000 M5 done 5000 mls since I got it av 20.3 mpg and used no oil. Gets driven fairly hard.
