...Yes indeed, in the new issue of 'Car' the M5 beat the MB quite convincingly. Oh well. I hope now people like 'veester' will finally be quiet.
Surely there can be no doubt, no debate, the new M5 is immense. In fact under one of the photos of the M5 in the magzine the caption stated: "Ultimate Driving Machine? - If this isn't, we don't know what is!?"
When pitted against the Porsche 911 the mag stated that the M5 was as good as it but of course, for the purist, the 911 could not be beaten. I quite agree, what is essentially a '4 door famaily car' vs the 'traditional archetypal sports car', there can surely be only one winner. However, it is a compliment in the extreme even to make the comparison.
The king is dead, long live the king. In my opinion the new M5 is worthy of the Ultimate Driving Machine slogan. Good job BMW, it's good to see that even though the styling may be undergoing a few issues, the engineering is still the best in the world
