I notice a huge difference in the way a high output I-6 and the V-8 put power to the ground.

I wouldnt think that 70 hp in a significantly heavier car would feel all that different, so I have to wonder - is it the torque?

yes, the s62 has a very flat torque curve, iirc, my last dyno had over 300lbs ft from 2k rpm to over 6k rpm.

would also explain why the wheels break loose.
