First, let me say I've got an '07 M6 with 5K miles, and it kicks ***. Stunning performance. But . . .

In the last 3,500 miles, I've blown the sidewall on THREE tires -- the stock Michelin Z rated tires. It costs $500+ to replace, and is not under warranty. I don't drive crazy . . . too crazy . . . heck, never even had DCS off (sorry) or burned any rubber. I wonder if a batch of those tires is flawed, or it's just inherent. Any feedback?

Were the blow-outs on the same wheel? If so, you may have a defective wheel which should be covered under your warranty.
