I think you mean 8 HP over Dinan Stage 2. Dinan stage 3 claims 620+ HP

Wow, that looks really sweet Tim, but I bet you wish it was Imola lovelove . We conversed a bit back when I was buying my M5 in Denver, so it's good to see you're getting back into an M5 -- isn't this #3?

Cheers,
Chuck

I bought the one Mike looked at there in Denver -- 2001, 12k miles, one owner. That was in Feb2004, so now it has just turned over 26k miles (including the almost 2k mile trip home). The car (knock on wood) has been almost totally free of any troubles so far. It had an 02 sensor go bad just after I got back home, but since then it has had zero warranty claims...whoops, forgot about an exhaust hanger that needed to be replaced. I probably shouldn't even be talking about it since the warranty expires in late August. ;)

Hi.

Did you get the car? Looks like the auction is over and the reserve met.

Just curious. Definitely has the right parts!

Welcome back, Tim!

Looks like you got a dandy there. Glad to have you back in the fold.

If you need an Imola fix and the Roadster's gone, I've got an Imola E38 740i Sport I could talk to you about...

Congrats, and good luck closing out the transaction.

I thought Dinan Stage 2 was 470hp? How do you get crank hp from a dyno? Isn't it a matter of getting wheel hp and then taking a guess at the drivetrain loss?

Josh, thats what I thought.

About the HP at crank vs. wheels etc. He has a different software package than Dinan. From what he said they ulocked a few areas that Dinan did not use. Apperently there was a "spike" of sorts at 5500 RPM and they leveled that etc. And heck you know that crank hp is justa calculation from wheel hp. Let alone accounting for ambiant temps and humidity blah blah
