<tt> Hello All,

I am looking specifically for any wiring diagrams pertaining to the
DME and the associated area.

I have a federalized 95 M5 and noticed a variac looking item wired in
near the dme, labeled Timing Adjustment. It does not specifically
state how it works and I would like to figure it out, so that it might
be removed.

Does anyone out there have a similiar looking device on their imported
M5's or does anyone have any information.

Here are a couple of pics of it as well.

Thanks,

Greg

That looks like a horrible thing :confused3

Does it have any indication of who might have made it anywhere?

Turns out it might not have to do with engine timing, but rather air pump timing. This device might bypass the built in delay for the air pump so that the air pump comes on upon startup with no delay. One of the items necessary to get these cars through the EPA testing in the US. This is what Scott Epstein mentioned on another site, and he has been involved with importing these cars for many years.

I will continue looking.

Thanks,

Greg
