I'm in the middle of a brake upgrade on my M635 and looking to see if anyone knows which rear rotors for the e34 M5 (300x20) are the lightest. I've seen images of some rotors that have holes in the hat portion of the rotor, but I'm not sure who makes those rotors or if they are even for this application.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Maybe I need a new tactic, if possible please post what one of your rear rotors weighs and the manufacturer (w/ part # if possible).

Thanks,

Eric

i don't have weights, since they're on the car, but the rotors with the holes in the hats are for the fronts, as far as i know. At the rear the hub section is a drum brake for the parking brake.

I don't have the weights either but I did my entire brake system this summer and I used Brembo rear rotors solid no holes which were very reasonable, I used vented on the front. I figured can't go wrong with a brembo product and they work great.
