I know there's a ton of threads on this but I spent all day yesterday attempting to download the Rheingold ITSA software with no success. Anyone have a current link to the most recent software download?

BimmerGeeks is another option: Downloads
Honestly though, I wound up buying the SW preinstalled on a HD. For me this was much easier than downloading and configuring. After swapping in the HD i was up and running in less than an hour.

I bought the above referenced hard drive setup a couple weeks ago.
Super simple install... software came right up.
I still need to play with the cable configuration settings a bit to get it to work with one the old blue BMCABLES.COM cables I already have from my old BM Technic software install or a silver BCCABLES K+DCAN cable (it says INPA compatible) from another setup I previously used.
Quite honestly, I forgot about needing to configure the software to see one of my cables. This is a nice reminder to get it done.

I may or may not have everything (NCS Expert, Rheingold, Winkfp, etc.) and database files for at least all of the E chassis cars) packaged on a Windows 7 VM if someone has an FTP. Off the top of my head its 30GB or so. Took months to find a good one and after many failed attempts I finally did, it's been utterly flawless once I got it communicating through the host machine and to the BimmerGeeks cable. I run it off a free download of Oracle VirtualBox on a ruggedized laptop although many clients exist.

I am currently in need of ista for my e92 m3

If you still have that ~30G VM, I have access to a large offshore ftp server.
Can host it indefinitely no problem. The host doesn't respond to DMCA or any other takedown requests.

Can you send it to me ?
cant figure out the pm capabilities on this forum, it might not be available since im an m3post user, and just registered here

Ok, got the laptop up and I was way off on size Flaco, its 82.5GB compressed and 194GB unpacked - so we're going to need a host with a decent amount of space. But it aggravates me to see those guys on ebay flashing 20 dollar hard drives and making 300% profits on something they don't own and didn't pay for - what a business idea. So I'll do my part to help get this available to the community, it couldn't be easier to use - download a VM client and go, the only tricky part after getting the file for me was configuring the client to properly port USB3.0 ports into the VM environment and I'd even be willing to create instructions on setting up Oracle VirtualBox for those who are less savvy on the software (I've got 5 years infrastructure support and 7 years software config and deployment in the professional side of life).

This is all the software installed:

port USB3.0 ports into the VM environment
This is why I’ve avoided any VM implementations. I’ve had issues in the past with getting the ports configured, and generally lacked the resolve to figure that out. It seems that getting this stuff to install and run properly takes longer than fixing the car sometimes. Kudos for doing this though. It would be great to be able to use this with an ICOM in INPA as well as ISTA+ and ISTA/P. I think that’s an advantage of those eBay drives. They have ISTA/P running and for us E60 guys it only work with ICOM. I’d be happy to test the image but need to move to a different SSD since I don’t have enough free space for the image.
Maybe if this was built on one of those stripped down versions of Win7 it would shrink the payload quite a bit.

I have tired several different ways to get it loaded and have yet to succeed. The download is huge and the software is even larger. I overcame several file size limitations but still have not made it, time for a super computer! The hard drive may be the best option.

Seeing how many issues everyone seems to be having with the software download, it seems like more people would just go with the super simple $80 hard drive with pre-configured software route.
When you live by the adage of time is money...
I'll stop there. I am sure y'all get what I mean.

I am willing to help others if they can utilize a "clone" of a working Ista / INPA Win 7 64 bit drive. Just send me a PM and we can take it from there. Not looking to make any money here and not looking to start up a drive cloning manufacturing line either. :p

Willing to help pay it forward for the benefit of the group.

It's a massive file (80GB if I remember), I could likely shrink it by removing all of the daten files but it would still be quite large. If hosted space becomes available, my stance is unchanged, I'm happy to upload for others.

i always doubt free stuff , even when you think you did it just after couple of weeks dozen of issues happen either to your computer or to the free programm you felt big victory after eventually downloading it first time without paying lol . i did this once 2 years ago i was proud of myself until i realized i messed up big time lol . THE SOLUTION IS SIMPLE FIND YOUR LOCAL SELLER PAY HIM 40-50..(DEFO NOT OUTSIDE EUROPE) he does the job for you . easy peasy init
i am in london my guy in stockport manchester . any software i dunno cables i need i text him what i need leave the computer on for him before i go to bed .
in the morning when i wake up BANG everything running on my computer ready to play.
i use forums just to learn stuff i dont knw or possibly share some of my experiences with others .
ALL THE BEST PPL

Yup, nothing (see screenshot below - readme text files do not contain anything useful) in terms of a License or a replacement .exe file. Unless one of the forum members can help this install is dead in the water.

I installed from this source, I have successfully done it twice now. Once on Windows 10 Pro and again on Windows 8. Most recently a couple days ago actually, it has a good guide to go along with it. Downloads from Mega. Be warned, without a paid account it will be a slow download. It is 4.10 though, doesn’t matter to me but I see you were looking for a more updated version.

#48 ·
Yeah i've downloaded from there as well. I don't know exactly what the differences between the versions are, but just figured newer would be better. Was actually starting to install that 4.10 version but then noticed on the last page of that thread, someone posted v 4.22.13 and is stored on Mega, so downloaded that. I am using a potato of a laptop so am nervous that will cause issues but we'll see. Thanks for the response though!

Could anyone provide me with confirmation regarding if it's okay to have my laptop charger plugged in while diagnosing my car with ISTA? I'm mainly going to be using ISTA to read transmission fluid temperature but my laptop is very old and crappy and to be short, will die too quickly without having it's charger plugged in.

Is it only advised to not use a laptop charger when coding/programming? I haven't been able to successfully search online and find an answer to this specific question. Just finding a lot of info about having the car plugged into a power supply / charger during programming/coding.

Yes that’s not a problem, I’ve done in the past during programming where the session would last longer than the old laptop battery lol.
