Thank you for publishing that data Raymond. I'm sure this was to demonstrate that driver variables play more of an importance than the wheel covers themselves. 2 lower temps than the fins then one much higher belonging to what some people might regard as the hardest driver. I'm quite certain the addition of Darjac pads have made more difference to mine than any wheel cover change I might consider.

An interesting article on Turbines Function over form: BMW M-System "Turbine" wheels « . . . The graph does suggest an improvement in cooling over a standard E34 wheel.


I do remember reading when I was researching Turbine wheel covers for my own car ( I can no longer find the link ), that the turbine wheel covers were largely ineffective at cooling and were more of a gimmick for the press when the E34 M5 was launched back in 1988.
