I remember reading an official bulletin allowing the use of 0w-40 on the s85 engines. But now I've spent a good hour and can't seem to find it... Anyone has a link or a copy? Or did I have too many drinks? :wink

Yeah I must've been up too late... I remember it had something about allowing the oil use only in european markets due to conditions, etc. But I can't find anything so perhaps it was for a different engine?

It was posted back in 2013 or so...the old Mobil 1 bottles used to say BMW LL01...the new ones do not. Why? Who knows... I still like the stuff.

This is straight from the owners manual it says 10w-40 is okay. I wouldn't put 0w-40 in it.

At this point I'm not sure if the bulletin I read applied to the S85. I do remember the european market only part tho. Hmmm....
