as in my other post i told you guys that i got rear ended and according to the estimator it was just over 5K euros damage. since the estimator said my car was only worth 3.7K i'm only getting 3.1K from the other guy's insurance plus rental car money for 14 days. now, don't get me wrong i really love this car i love everything about it. i know i can fix the damage with what they are going to give me and probably have a little left over for some other smaller repairs. but my car has just over 200,000 KM. still runs like a top and has a great service history and a ton of new parts. what do you guys think? should i fix my baby back to her glory or should i keep the insurance money and sell her off as parts and buy something else? please help

I told my wife when she let me buy this car that I would never sell it.

I wasn't kidding.

I would never sell my M5, I will never sell my M5.

I would never sell my M5, nor my 560 SEC.
Furthermore what kind of car would you buy with that kind of money.
Dont sell, get it in top shape and keep it.
That's my penny's worth

I dont think you wan to sell it really do you?

I personally would not sell mine, but hey its a personal thing.

what will replace it - another M5 -means spending more money?

selling it off as parts is time consuming - can I be bothered?

Do you want to consign another one of these classics to car heaven?

my pennies worth.

good luck deciding

the answer to the above question do i want to sell it? NO WAY!

i know it can be repaired, but when they told me it was only worth 3,700 euros it about broke my heart with as much as i have into it.

i don't think i will sell it, just wanted to know some other opinions on the subject.

can you confidently repair it back to its previous condition - if not better?

I think this is the course of action I would take.

If you can get it straight & are prepared to own it knowing it has had a shunt,
then go for it.
You may regret not doing it later if you like the car.

Good luck
