I kindly disagree (that iPods will be useless) - MP3 sound quality is OK, but not what I would call great. Recordings compressed with MP3 contain too much digital artifact, and cannot produce the quality of a CD. The main reason for the MP3 rage is small file size coupled with reasonable quality. With new 60GB iPods available, the reason to use MP3 compression is vanishing. The iPod sound quality is phenomenal when using AA compression or Apple Lossless compression. I've quit using my CD changer since the iPod (I use only Apple Lossless) entered my life.
