S54/M54 engine 3.2liter has won the award for the last 5 years, very impressive! :byebye:

Even more impressive is they won the yearly award despite a whopping 10% M3/Z3 motor failure rate covering a particular 3-4 mo interval.

The prize should be interpreted as:

Best Engine if all parts are manufactured as designed and assembled as designed.

It is about engineering and design - not actual delivered quality.

Anyway, the V10 is a very nice engine. Horrible Vanos-diesel-sound at idle though... but you are willing to foregive that...

I would have been surprised if it didn´t win this award.

Anything with that hp/L and that sound deserves awards, so I'm glad to see it picked up a bunch. How many did the S62 win when it came out? Hopefully a few.
