Go to bimmer forums and look for a guy by the name of lscman. He rebuilds the E39 tranny. It will run you about $3000 plus your core. If your core is decent, he will refund you some money. $3000 four the E39 M5 tranny that is rebuilt better than OEM is a great deal if you ask me.
