I know this is a bit off topic but I am trying to buy a 2003 X5 4.6is from British Colombia as I cannot find any decent examples here in the U.S. I know that I need the letters of compliance from BMW in order for the shipper to pick it up and move it across the boarder however, what else might I be forgetting to do this mess of a transaction?

Federalization if necessary... not sure about sub-25 year old cars coming into the US from CA. If it was originally a US car, shouldn't be an issue

Should, yes. Particularly if it was built for the US market (e.g. is the cluster in kilometers or miles)
