My radiator's leaking. Only visible as vapour, and really only obvious at night when the steam shows up in the headlamp beams.

The website for Euro Car Parts seems to indicate that theirs is £135 + vat. That would be fine, but their website is SO poor that I can't trust the pricing, I'll phone them tomorrow.

In the meantime, although ETK seems to indicate that it's an M5 only part, many other sites list E34/E32 M30 Manual 650mm core radiators as a single part. Naturally they might not quite have the right fittings, and therefore a PITA.

Has anyone bought one without resorting to the £400 dealer option?

I know the one in mine isn't BMW but the radiator is the same part off another car. My local specialist sourced it. I can call Noel in the morning and ask if you want.

For some reason my car seems to eat radiators. It has had three in the last five years. The last pukka M5 BMW one didn't leak but bulged for some strange reason.

Hi Andy

My 94 six-speeder OE radiator was bulging and knackered too, was quoted the circa £400 for the genuine BMW one. Got one from the guys at www.radfast.co.uk for something like £92 plus post plus vat, total was £119 or something - they were really helpful, emailed me a blueprint plan to ensure it was the right one and it was delivered in about four days direct from their supplier. Turns out the width of it is marginally smaller than the genuine BMW one but otherwise it fits fine, and i've had no problem with it since. I'll have a look at the office tomorrow for the contact name of the guy if you like.

Cheers,
David.

M5 powered, If you wouldn't mind to pass the details on, that'd be great! Cheers!

David - I'll ring Radfast this morning to see what they've got to say!

I'd rather replace it because it's physically damaged - it's bulging at the top and has quite a few of the villae damaged by the frame pulling apart.

RadFast are going to supply one for £119.85 inc VAT and delivery, should be with me tomorrow. Shame I have to have it delivered to work (which means carrying it home on the train) because they won't deliver if no-one's there to sign for it.

Cheers David.

No - I've ordered it already from Rad Fast.

Hi Andy,

You beat me to it. I see you've ordered the rad. That sounds roughly what I paid.

To Scorchio, yes that is Noel of NCB. He is a good friend and been doing all the maintance work on my M5 for years! :flag:

I went there ,as i used to use him for spares supply occasionally when i previously owned an E30 325i Sport.......a mate of mine who worked with me at Birmingham Airport said he knew him very well and that NCB were quite reasonable for BMW servicing & knew thier 'onions' so to speak.

I always had them in mind for servicing when researching my M5 purchase.

gave an honest appraisal of my motor and the few minor issues with it.

so far so good

Paul.
