I have a '99 M3 daily driver and an E28 M5 Sunday driver. If I ever get a job that requires a lot less driving (200+/day) then I might opt for the best car ever made - an E39 M5.
I've spent time searching and found many great threads, but in a nutshell, anything glaringly specific to look for if that fateful day comes? I'd be leaning towards a 2003. Also, have any ever been produced without nav?
Hopefully I'll get a free pass for being a newbie if I've broken any "should have searched more" rules and, if so, I won't do it again.
Thank you.

03s should be accessible by then. And yea, they all came with nav! 3 different nav systems, though.

They sold some without it in other parts of the world. It'd be pretty easy to get rid of if you wanted a car without it though.
