Hi,

Could someone please tell me how I install a OEM "M5" emblem in the
front grill on my 1993 3.8? I looks like I have to bend the metal tabs
over the grill slates, but can't figure out how to do it? Do I remove
the grill? If so, please tell me how?

Thanks a bunch - Ed

You don`t need to remove the grill.

The new badge has tags which bend round to grip the vanes of the grill. These can be bent with a medium to small flatblade screwdriver. I`ve got mine replaced in two mins with this method.

It`s thunder'n'lightning outside at the mo, if you can`t work it out, I`ll photograph how and send in over the weekend. Paul, if you like it, put it in the FAQ as the quick and dirty method!

I agree - took me about an hour to work out and two minutes to fit. No need to remove grille.

Thanks everyone!

I ended up just removing the 23 upper screws on the grill and pulled it forward just enough to use my fingers to bend the tabs. Worked out great.

Thanks for all the tips!

Ed

ps --- Saturday is SSK install day, oh boy!

Update: Just adding a few clarifying pictures for the next person.

Remove these screws

After removing the two screws above you can pull the trim forward to allow yourself access to the back

These are the mounting tabs to need to straighten in order to remove the emblem.

The new emblem is in the correct location.
