Char filters out now...:M5launch: Do a search for mods - there are a million threads on mods you can do to her. Char filter removal is free and you'll get some horse that way. From there your on your own as far as what you want to do. Just have fun with it and enjoy..... Once you start modding her you'll never stop.. I have promised myself to stop after each mod I have done and I am still modding her out.. Again ENJOY! Its an awesome car!! And one last word of advice - be careful - she churns a lot of power.... :wroom:

What do you mean by " runflats"???
By the picture it seems to be conti's 2, and those are NOT runflats.
If you are not happy with them, then your best bet might be, with PS2 from Michellin.

As nice as the E39 is, for sheer performance the E60 is in a different league. Once you pass the 1,200 mile service, open her up in second and third to 8,250 and try telling us it feels slow. I had a 996 turbo and I know once they're rolling my grocery getter would take it.

Also, I highly doubt they're runflats. More pics would be nice so we can be sure.

For the member who suggested CF removal, only North American cars the carbon filter.;)

how do you tell the diff?

what exhaust system and induction kit could i put on?

would this effect the warranty?

check your owners manual under changing a tire it differentiates performance from run flats with a code on the tire. i'm not near my car so i can't do it for you mate. :dunno:

To the best of my knowledge no "M" cars including the M5 come with Runflat tyres, (yet)

You can get the runflat effect by using the "Sport" EDC setting on a rough surface at low speeds.
Runflats essentially have much thicker sidewalls than ordinary tires (typically twice as thick to be self supporting with no air), it can lead to coarse running especially at low speed, as the tyre has much less spring effect.

Both tyre and car manufacturers are learning how to reduce the unpleasantness.

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my tyre problem,I checked it out
with BMW dealer and they have confirmed i do have runflats on there
because that s how the car came out of the showroom.

GOODBYE RUNFLATS!!!!!

According to BMW you need a special rim to suit a run-flat?

Please take a closeup photo of your tyres and we can confirm whether or not they're runflats. ContinSportContact2 tyres are NOT runflats and I have never seen an M5 (and I've seen hundreds) with runflats.

By the way, welcome

get checked out by a specialist.

Judging by your picture, it looks like you already have the preferred choice for the M5 - Michelins... :applause:
