ok folks i am asking for advice here

i have been told that if you change the exhaust you must adapt the sortware (ie dinan) to gain any advantage from the new exhaust

here is what i want to do
i want to cut my exhaust pipes just befor the mufflers and put a turned down stainless elbow so that i have a muffler delete and keep stock mufflers in place.....

or should i do a straight muffler delete and do straight pipe?

if so is there any ill that may come to my car, will i see a performance increase or decrease?

any tricks to assure that i keep my warranty in place?
