Curious to know if anyone has anyone hacked the NAV software yet? :typing:

Seems the NAV voices are stored in a proprietary format with a .tsf file extension. Cant seem to find much in the way of conversion utils to open these files. We are not the first to run into this problem:

However, there are several cleartext language files (editable with a hex editor) which may provide an easy way of “customizing” seemingly all of the displayed functions of the Nav / Radio unit. Here is a partial dump of what can be in the USA language file located on the V25 CD at \LANGUAGES\0200\USA_M :

Quite interesting. But I don't see any reason to change the displayed text on the nav system. Only reason why I see anyone trying to change it is if they want to change it to another roman alphabet based language that BMW doesn't support. Besides, I don't think anyone is actually brave enough to change it, risking a complete nav unit meltdown... hiha
