was just browsing around and saw the GruppeM offers titanium exhausts for the M5 now.. always wanted titanium exhausts for my M5, but I'm pretty happy with the g-power ones I have, so doubt I'll change.. but just curious if anyone tried them and I would love to hear the sound clips from it..

I always wanted to ask if ther are any sound/pitch differences due to the substitution of titanium for stainless steel. Outside of weight, are there any other performance benefits?

tfung,

Long time no hear. We miss you here in MA.

Rocket,

there is a huge difference in sound when using TI as a material for muffler parts..it has a much crisper, more metalic sound.

But as for performance, with 2 exhausts (one out of SS and one out of TI) the only difference should be the weight.

Although TI for exhausts is not really the best material as its prone to cracking after some time due to heat cycling. This is another reason I decided not to persue a TI exhaust for my car...
