Wow, tell me about it! I got the Platinum plan from Bruce for just this scenario. I don't want this day to come around and be fully exposed for it. Good luck, and like another poster said. Silver liining...new engine! Keep us updated.

Hey Mike... sorry to hear the bad news. Great that you had a warranty though! Your new motor is built with the new P/N bearings? Either way, your good to go for a loooong time if you take care of her (I know you will). We have to get together with BossM6 (Kaveh) sometime and have a group photo and/or track day! When you have some time, post your story in the Rod Bearing thread on the E60 M5 forum. Best wishes. Rick.

Wholeheartedly agree. Mike's helping me get in touch with the PSI guys, hoping I can get up there next month to throw on a few mods. Maybe we can work something out, then. Hopefully, Mike's beast is done by then. Happy trails, gents.

Ouch, that is craziness! I remember how you searched high and low for an M6 in great shape, one that wasn't beat, and that had decent mileage. And regardless you are in for a new engine. That is some pretty early mileage numbers so a bit surprised.

Now in 20/20 hindsight the warranty is a great investment.

Yeah it was a journey finding my m6 and with what I wanted how ever now the dealer n the warranty company are going back in fourth with the cost of the new engine the dealer selling the engine of job around 40k the extended warranty say thats way to high n they have done m5 jobs for 30 to 35k so now the warranty company wants to send my dealer a brandnew engine from Germany taking even more time :( at a lower cost either way ill be with out my car for a few weeks but in the long run my M will be brand n a new cluch but sad part is just finished her with wheels and mods funny i was suppose to drop her this week and then psi was going to do a project build story and photo shoot and posted everywhere:grrrrr: oh well may have to wait now but here something they just out together on Instagram but to me the car looks a lil funny with no center caps and it was sitting so high cause it was just off he lift lol below is link

What a great looking M6! I hope you get her back soon. What caused the rod bearing to go out? Why do they need to replace the entire engine? and not only the broken components or short block?
Any how, if you are getting it for free (New engine & clutch) other than the wait you should be good. Get well soon!
