This is my first post and must say I've enjoyed reading all of yours in the past months. I've owned my '00 Black since Feb. '04 and have enjoyed it thoroughly as my daily driver. Bought it on auction at Manheim and got lucky (my opinion). After experiencing limp mode and reading your threads had my MAFS replaced about a month ago and really enjoy full power all the time. Wish I had asked for the old MAFS to see if a cleaning would be as good.

Anyway, who knows a good shop to buff out this baby prior to storage for the winter in the Boston area or central MA? I have just purchased a '95 SHO for the winter commute. Have owned a '94 and '95 and love these cars.

Also anyone running Kumho Ecsta MX's out there? Any comments?

I would recommend two places. One is our own TCM from Automotive Specialists in Tyngsborough,MA . He does an outstanding job and is a certified Zymol dealer, he can be reached at 978.649.7141 . His website is at

Another alternative is JD from AutosalonDetailing, he is another great detailer and is doing a lot of work for many high-end car owners and Dick's Autobody in Boston. He is located in Winchester,MA and can be reached at 781.771.1500. He is using Zymol and/or Zaino depending on your preferences.
His website is at http://www.autosalondetailing.com/

I've used both and have nothing but good things to say about their work. As TCM is a board member and owns a M5 I'd highly recommend him :)

Jan:

Thanks for the kind words. Where in the world are you now;)?

rrankin///M5:

Glad to see you finally got your SES lights all settled out. As far as the tires, I have run the Kumho's on my previous 540/6 and was not that impressed with them. The price is great for them, but I found them to offer very little feedback especially when on the limit before giving out totally. I also found that they were terrible in the wet after about 10k miles. I would look into other brands if possible such as Bridgestone S03 and Michelin PS2. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call, as I have the wholesale accounts with tirerack and others and can get you more info with pricing and technical specs about each tire.

As far as detailing, feel free to give me a call. As Jan stated, I deal mostly with Zymol products but am pretty familiar with the M5 (probably done about 30+ details on them). Feel free to give me a call,pm, or email if you have any questions.

I'd goto Automotive Specialist in Tyngsborough, even though it's far away it's the only
shop I trust with my car when it comes to detailing. Thanks to TCM my cars always
looking like a deep shine mirror :) Not to mention $15 for a 2 hour hand wash ain't bad
at all :)

2 hours...I thought I cut it down to an hour and a half:(. Also, update your signature please, it is about 1 year behind on your mods;).

TCM: I do agree that the Kumho's do not compare with S-O3's or Pilot's but you can't beat the price. I have run the S-03's and Pilot Sport's on my E36M3. The Bridgestone's had incredible grip but didn't want to go straight and were loud. Maybe the PS2's next time. I will give you a call soon to set up an appointment prior to winter storage. Look forward to it.

Thanks,
