Cams will not really work without headers and the heads should be modified!

I would suggest you get a set headers(Evolve or SS) and a good remap.

You will see with our headers about 35-40HP gains...
And this is a good basic when you decide to go further with engine mods...

And spend the rest of the money on maintenance.
What is the mileage of your M5?

Mine is similar mileage with 145k km....

I suggest stuff like fuel filter,CPS,diff/transmission oil to change.

Also a good check of all suspension/brake parts and replacement if needed.

If you want a short shifter, look into the E60 545i one.Improves driving quite much for cheap...

I would not recommend cams for our cars, personally, UNLESS they are also made to be hollow. I wouldn't like to ADD rotating mass in my engine, personally.
All aftermarket cams have to be hollow like the OEM ones for lubrication purposes...
emmmm maybe best mod is ESS Supercharge but need to collect some $$$ :grinyes:

i know the m5 still quick car but i want moore to keep up with corvettes
With all this extra power and speed you want. You might be well advised to start with the brakes and suspension recommended by very wise owners. You may find you need to go around a corner or god forbid slow down maybe even come to a complete stop.

My son put this one on his M5 -- mine has the Dinan short shifter -- and I prefer the E60 one. +1 recommendation.

And, my vote for headers. If I had the money that's where I'd spend it.
